How Can CryptoGraffiti Work?

A guest pay some bitcoin can type their message into the text area, and view the message exhibited on the CryptoGraffiti website, together with messages and decoded in the blockchain from the Bitcoiners.

Untill June 17, 2016, users were able to send text messages to the blockchain.  But now it is possible to have JPG images written to the blockchain alongside text messages.

The images can be up to 50KB in size. And, when the process of publishing to the blockchain is complete, no one on the planet can censor, delete or rewrite the data entered by users — it is stored in the blocksfree bitcoin casino no deposit bonus bitcoin casino bonus codes it’s the first service in the Bitcoin ecosystem that implements automatic image writing to the blockchain, Bitcoin and bitcoin casino 150 free spins.com reached out to CryptoGraffiti’s founder, Erich Erstu (nickname Hyena), to ask him a few questions about his vision of the task and its possible outcomes for the Bitcoin community.

Bitcoin.com (BC): What do you do for living?

A photograph of young Angela Merkel with Hitler, published to the blockchain for permanent preservation.

Hyena: I am working as a software developer in the capital of Estonia.

BC: How did you come to opening such a cool site as cryptograffiti.info?

Hyena: In 2014 I had been studying in the Masters’ program of Software Engineering at the University of Tartu. We had a course and for one of the class homeworks we had to datamine something and present the results. I thought? For instance, similarly to how Satoshi wrote”The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks” in the very first block of Bitcoin’s block chain. I wrote a program that searches and monitors all bitcoin TX’s in the output addresses of each transaction for ASCII text. As I was expecting, I discovered all kinds of messages, so I made the cryptograffiti.info website that displayed those messages. It was introduced by me .

BC: Impressive. What services do you plan to implement in future?

Hyena: I intend to implement Proof-of-Existence support as an added tool for cryptograffiti that allows secure timestamping of files for notary purposes. In addition, in the future I’d like to develop some interesting provably.

BC: How did you first learn about the Bitcoin tech?

Hyena: I learned about the Bitcoin technology in 2011 from a friend who heard about it on reddit and told me about this”trendy new digital currency which may be used to purchase drugs online.” He had been interested in that sort of thing, but I instantly realized Bitcoin as an investment opportunity of this centuryBitcoincasino.us scam Was it scary or fun to learn about Bitcoin at the first time?

Hyena: It was definitely fun to learn about bitcoin because it was my gateway to the secrets of the financial world.

Thanks to Bitcoin, I now understand how the world economics work, how banks function and all that.

A satirical message about the recent DAO troubles.

BC: What do you think about the ecosystem niche for services like yours?

Hyena: Many folks argue that services like cryptograffiti.info cause block chain bloat and are thus immoral. They say that the block chain should not be used for this.

I believe it’s the same like saying that the Internet should only be used for publishing scientific articles and also to exchange e-mails with relatives. In my view, value is given by the data storage feature of the block chain to bitcoins and the community should be happy for it.

Bitcoin is not just the Internet money but it also offers a platform for censor communication and trustless services.

BC: Your recent post on bitcointalk.org forum says:

“I am delighted to announce that I have just received a contribution of 0.1 bitcoins from en.hotmine.io Smart Heating. It motivated me to implement the picture storing. Also, thanks go to the bitcointalk user xumuku who also contributed me bitcoins quite some time ago so I would implement image storing”.

You have many such messages from the thread. Looks like the service has a and a potential to grow. Is it profitable to maintain such a simple looking but very strong site?

Hyena: With two decades of operating, people have saved more than 500 messages on the block series using cryptograffiti.info and I have received 2.1 bitcoins as donations. Considering the current cost of bitcoin I will say I have never been working with a loss.

The agency has a potential to become more rewarding and perhaps it should be turned into a business.

I am yet to be approached people or by investors . Until this, I am just happy to have developed a service that we find useful.

Thank you for answering our questions and providing the community with this functionality. We wish you the best of luck with your project.
