We have our winners crowned, although it was a wild 2019 NBA Finals. It was a fun series between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors, but the group from Canada was able to shut this one out.
Following the Warriors defeated the Raptors in Game 5 in Canada, many believed the Western Conference powerhouse would have the ability to tie things up in Game 6 and make things interesting at a Game 7. While his ACL tore in Game 6 however, his Achilles ruptured at Game 5.
Together with the accidents to two star players, Golden State couldn’t keep up with the Raptors that are electrifying. Kawhi Leonard managed to control making 2019 NBA Finals MVP honors. He helped Toronto win it up north.
From the series-clinching win, Leonard scored 22 points in Toronto’s 114-110 victory. He had been a no-brainer his next time after being named Finals MVP together with the San Antonio Spurs, earning the honour, for MVP. He is just the third player in league history to win NBA Finals MVP with two teams.
