BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more fun…and much less stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years back that’s likely cost them tens of thousands of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of those with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they’re a trusted and legit gambling company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before opting to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do Exactly?
What exactly did BetOnline do to make so many people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, ranging from telling likes to withholding cash to having shoddy security.
There are loads of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They discovered several examples, which you can find for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what system it was around. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually on the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about the way they were on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Later reports (in BetOnline) suggested that things were nice and mended, and that BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie also if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad approach to market a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from customers. The reasoning was almost always because the customer supposedly cheated, although no evidence was provided from BetOnline (in the cases we’ve read).
One example that caught our attention was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline stated he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him cheating (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was empty promises about how they had been on the road, and also the runaround when they showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too big.
(Anybody who understands anything regarding online poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — understands what a crock this is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated if you do not have anything to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his money back. His last update mentions being relieved about how it worked out for him, but also stated the exact same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the participant did do something wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else would be hurt. He did it his friend might have an extra $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is they were playing from the same house at the moment. Most sites wouldn’t even let two people from the same IP address sit down at exactly the same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas most sites would have captured it much sooner), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is how they needed to also take his $37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that many legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at the exact same table. And, if they did, as soon as they suspected chip dumping had happened, the participant’s account would come under inspection. He’d not have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline desired it. Buttechnically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this participant’s activities (that was no one). So it is absurd BetOnline believes they need to be able to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The previous example we wish to share is a case where a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their customer’s passwords and login amounts. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a good point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into account and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, just a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’re going to see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What is even more ridiculous is the way these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the exact same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were trying hard to pay their customers.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment group is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “But since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through various fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is complete, clients will experience radically improved payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, such as same day choices.”
Nobody knows exactly how much BetOnline had to make in past payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find over $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported by the prior management. I think it’d be safe to presume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are some complaints; normal stuff all businesses face that we’ll address in the future in our inspection once it makes sense. But it appears to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean for you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they safe enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We will be honest — there is no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had known or heard about any of those reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You’d be safer lighting your money on fire.
And we also don’t wish to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software is not to be dismissed.
However, since purchasing SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to manage operations, things have improved radically. So much so we’re comfortable now urging them to our readers.
And it is not just us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing with there, simply to have a change of heart when they saw how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the latest of which we highlight in our review below.
But, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they offer players. So we feel safe using accounts here.
It’s up to you to choose if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past out of the way, let’s jump into what’s important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, gambling options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good selection of banking options. But you will want to remember that what’s available for you will probably be determined by your geographical area.
Let’s begin with their deposit options.

The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6% fees for credit and debit cards. They are one of the only websites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those additional ones, charging 4.9 percent.
Cash Outs
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, then you can utilize:

What I do not like is how you are going to pay a commission for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
That said, I have seen firsthand testimonials from customers who say they have received payments within 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their website, but I have seen reports that suggest BetOnline provides you a $50 credit every month if you put in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the entire fee, but it is better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. That means that you can bet on sports, play poker and casino games.
Their longest standing, and likely most popular solution, is their sportsbook. So let’s begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and financing.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Soccer Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Soccer One option they have added lately is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how fast that industry is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the biggest leagues and tournaments.
BetOnline is, too, even though it appears as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ games around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this developing market. Perhaps they have plans to enlarge their eSports choices in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is their chances on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing for the same exact match.
There is no way to tell whether that’s going to be true, nor will it matter if they never expand this part of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on them.
They offer live betting also. These options change constantly, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for soccer, baseball and tennis. You can even keep tabs on a couple of games concurrently using their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limits. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering amounts by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll find in their own racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — make a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races in their webpage. Each listing tells you how many spacious races there are, which should you click it is going to expand to show you the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their website or horse gambling, a fantastic section to look through is their racebook info tab in their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their track limits. This tells you the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you’ll make if your wager (s) win.Their principles and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It is a fantastic section if you’re new to horse gambling.
And that is about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the quality or quantity their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you shed BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include signature, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets you can bet on will depend on your wager kind.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is one of the most well-known options for Americans. They’re a part of this Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in total traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker websites. After I last checked they had about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. Previously they had several complaints about the quality of their software. This included complaints about fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their update we’ve seen suggestions that they might have a few of the best applications in america marketplace.
From worst to best at 1 upgrade? That may be pushing it. But based on the pictures I’ve seen, their software DOES look better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, which we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be nice to see more game choices.
Overall, however, it is nice to see they are making advancements and are becoming more competitive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of that, a Number of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover out this to you $5 at one time. You’ll have 60 days to clean the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They’ve a few leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not just a”bonus,” but the matches here must be milder because of the US traffic along with the crossover visitors from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be easier here compared to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game choices which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft applications, each of which are known for creating games that are topnotch. Here is how their matches breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
1 example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to excel at client services. How else can you explain the popularity of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat service (and I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review)I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
Following the live chat session started, I needed to wait for a couple of minutes until the customer support person bothered to reply, not only completely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your password and username into a live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I clarified that I do not wish to enter that information into a chat area and, more importantly, the query demands no such information since it was about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in just a moment…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer services. He also states that your very best bet is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to us that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with the way they handle customer care…an
